PERMASTONES: Piove® | Percola®
Q. What is the tensile splitting strength of the pavior?
A. The pavior exceeds the minimum in accordance to the BS EN 1338:2003 6.3.8.3 of 2.5 N/mm² (MPa)
Q. What sizes are available?
A. The product is available in the following sizes:
200mmx100mmx100mm and 200mmx100mmx80mm
100mmx100mmx100mm and 100mmx100mmx80mm
Q. What technical specification does Piove® comply with?
A. BS EN 1338:2003 Concrete paving blocks. Requirements and testing. In addition the product complies with Belgium Benor PTV 122 permeability rating a European guideline that is included in EN 1338.
Q. How is storm return expressed?
A. Storm return was often described in number of years as a once-in-so-many years storm event. It is now normally calculated as the capacity to absorb rainwater in litres/second/hectare and is expressed as a flow rate.
Q. What is the storm return?
A. The individual units have a minimum flow rate of 270 litres/sec/hectare. The flow rate of a paved area is of up to 4000 litres/sec/hectare (4x10-4 m²/second) compared to typical flows for UK rainfall of 180 litres/sec/hectare.
Q. Are there possible problems when the products has been in use that the porous property could be reduced due to clogging?
A. Testing of the flow rates of a major project on the continent has been undertaken for over 5 years and there has not been a reduction in the effectiveness. Test results are available on request.
Q. Can the product be machine laid?
A. The product can be machine laid and performs in a similar way to standard block paving.
